Tables by Pigswhistle

We make dining tables, coffee tables and our special parquetry tables. We produce a range of tables with parquetry tops. Parquetry is a method by which thick (8mm-10mm) slices of wood are laid in a pattern into the tabletop. This works very well with freeform and organic shapes.

Parquetry table tops' are perfectly smooth.

Double Nautilus design in Yew parquetry on burr Elm. The spiral base, which reflects the tabletop design, is in Acacia.

	Cherry Wine Table [enlarge]
	Cherry oyster parquetry laid into English Walnut in a flower petal design. The oysters are 8mm slices taken from billets of timber, kiln dried and laminated to a solid base. A traditional way of displaying fine grain and figure.

Laburnum Corner Table [enlarge]
Laburnum oysters on slim, tapered Acacia legs. A tall design suitable for a hall or display unit. Cross banding in Laburnum.

	Parquetry Loo Table [enlarge]
	Parquetry Loo table in Laburnum and English Walnut. This design of table was used for card playing - hence the name. The flip top design makes for space saving and easy storage, whilst the top adds a decorative flourish.

Small Nautilus Table [enlarge]
Small Nautilus table with Yew inlay. This unusual shell shaped table is mounted on a spiral Acacia base and the edge is cross banded in Yew.

	Sunburst Design Single Pedestal Table [enlarge]
	Single pedestal table in English Yew, with sunburst design inlaid with Holly strings and a central Yew burr ellipse. The single pedestal is solid Yew. This is a very large table, almost two metres long, seating 8 to 10 people.

Twin pedestal table in solid English yew. Shield back chairs are handcarved with Prince of Wales feathers, leather seats. A breakfront glazed dresser and sideboard complete the suite.

Walnut Loo Table [enlarge]
Flip top table, also called a breakfast table stores easily against a wall. This small dining table sized example, in solid English walnut with brass fittings. Example shows fine figuring of English Walnut.
